Widow skimmers are common around our pond during mid to late Summer. This one was perched over the pond on some grass stems and I was able to get many images as good as this one.

Jim Zablotny

Jim Zablotny is a natural historian, entomologist, and nature photographer from Fenton, Michigan. His present work emphasizes color, detail, and bold composition of natural subjects. His artistic endeavors included scientific illustration, and presently nature photography with subjects ranging from macro photographs of insects and wildflowers, to birds, reptiles,amphibians, and mammals.
