I had to shoot through a cluster of leaves to photograph this Blackburnian warbler. One of the most colorful of the wood warblers, these birds rarely come down from the canopy.

Jim Zablotny is a natural historian, entomologist, and nature photographer from Fenton, Michigan. His present work emphasizes color, detail, and bold composition of natural subjects.
