Greater yellowlegs are fairly large shorebirds that migrate through Michigan during Spring and Fall. This bird was photographed while feeding in a flooded farm field this November. With snow expected this weekend, I expect that the remaining shorebirds will leave for their overwintering area.
Jim Zablotny is a natural historian, entomologist, and nature photographer from Fenton, Michigan. His present work emphasizes color, detail, and bold composition of natural subjects.
