These are one of the most difficult dragonflies to photograph. They are small in size (1.25 in), secretive, and very flighty. There was a large emergence of Eastern amberwings this morning and found this very cooperative individual that stuck around for over 300 images. Breezy conditions made this a very difficult process well.
Jim Zablotny is a natural historian, entomologist, and nature photographer from Fenton, Michigan. His present work emphasizes color, detail, and bold composition of natural subjects.
