Artist's Description
A major winter invasion of snowy owls is going on during the Winter of 2017. Lemming and small rodent populations have crashed in the arctic forcing these birds to move south in order to find food. This is a significant crop of a photo that I took a few weeks ago along the Lake Huron shoreline of Michigan. I would have loved to have taken a frame filling shot of the head, but I did not want to approach closer which stresses out these birds. That is why I am presenting this small image for printing.
