Artist's Description

Ctenucha virginica is one of the most common day-flying moths in North America. Although dirt common, this particular individual had just emerged from its coccoon and was sunning itself on a milkweed leaf. The iridescent blue color on the thorax and abdomen displayed well in today's soft light.
