The swamp milkweed prefers wetter habitats than other species of milkweeds. One of North America's most colorful wildflowers, I photographed this one late in the evening which increased the saturation of the bright pink flowers.

Jim Zablotny is a natural historian, entomologist, and nature photographer from Fenton, Michigan. His present work emphasizes color, detail, and bold composition of natural subjects.
